FUNGI ENDOFIT SEBAGAI AGEN BIOKONTROL SERANGAN PATOGEN PADA TANAMA

Endophytic fungi refers as the fungi that live in inter and intracellular of a living cell of the plant and typically shown the asymptomatically in the host plant. The relationship between endophyte and its host plant has been studied as mutualistic whereas the endophytic can inhibit the growth pathogen by their mycotoxin and secondary metabolites that change the physiology and biochemical reaction of cell host and the endophyte gain the nutrition form its host. Recent study inoculated endophytic fungi to target plants in order to activate the plant defense mechanism againts pathogens. Since fungi endophytes can induce the systemic resistance on plants defend system, the plant evolves become resistance from the harmful pathogen. These phenomena, bring the endophytic fungi being the biological agent to control the plant diseases. Fungi endophytes have been a significant impact on improving productivity of agriculture, referred by plant ecologists as a biopesticide to actualize sustainability agriculture.
